Mariko Jesse’s work celebrates the patterns, colours and textures of different cultures, the mixture of East and West. For Wonderland she has created a series of etchings layering delicate birds over antique kimono patterns. Jesse has worked for various international clients, including VOGUE, Tiffany & Co., the BBC, Martha Stewart, The Boston Globe, and The Mandarin Oriental. She has illustrated many children’s books, and created the permanent interior artwork for an entire subway station in Hong Kong. She is currently an Associate Lecturer at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in London.
