The Silk Road acted as a trade and cultural link between Asia and the Middle East for centuries. Through the Silk Road Arts Festival, it is now extending its reach to 21st century Hong Kong and taking on a refreshingly new appearance. To enhance understanding of the role of this ancient highway, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has joined up with the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and ArtMap to organise Reborn - The Silk Road Arts Exhibition. In this innovative series of displays and special programmes, prominent visual and performing artists from Hong Kong and Macao explore the historical, cultural and economic significance of the Silk Road, offering a fascinating collection of diverse perspectives on the route.
